Nudie Jeans Gritty Jackson Dry Selvage

This 13.75oz Kaihara “Dry Selvage” denim is a cornerstone of Nudie Jeans’ heritage. First used in 2001, it helped define the brand after co-founder Maria discovered its exceptional quality and aging potential.

It features a deep indigo warp, unbleached ecru weft, tight construction, and a dry, crisp hand. The warp is dyed with sulfur and then indigo, creating a muted, rich blue with Nudie’s signature orange stitching.

As it ages, the denim evolves beautifully: it starts as a greenish “greencast” blue and gradually shifts toward a clearer “redcast” blue with wear and washing—one of the reasons it has remained a core fabric since the beginning.
